This site is built for one specific reader: an American planning a trip to Ibiza who can't find straight answers to the questions that actually matter: flights, money, phone service, and entry rules.

Who's behind it

Americans on Ibiza is run by Jasper, who has spent years working in Ibiza's yacht and hospitality industry, running charter operations through The Yacht Broker Club, and an ice bath rental business, Ibiza Ice Baths, serving villas, retreats, and events across the island. That day-to-day work with international clients, most of them not from Europe, is where a lot of the questions this site answers first came up: does my card work here, how do I actually get a taxi, what's the deal with tipping. It's also why this site now handles direct bookings for yachts, villas, security, and VIP tables, not just guides.

What this site is (and isn't)

It's a practical reference, not a nightlife guide or a listicle of "top 10 beaches." Ibiza already has excellent general travel media (Ibiza Spotlight in particular is a strong resource for events, transport, and local news). This site exists alongside those, focused narrowly on the logistics that trip up American travelers specifically: card acceptance, SIM/eSIM setup, visa rules that get confused with ESTA, and, starting in 2027, the island's first nonstop flight from the US.

Accuracy and sourcing

Flight schedules, entry requirements, and financial rules change. Every page on this site lists a last-updated date, and factual claims about flights or entry requirements link to the airline, government, or news source they come from. If something here is out of date, that's useful to know.
